Sweet Senescence

Sweet Senescence, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. For my Mom. A smudge-brush painting from a photo. I hand painted this over a photo, changing it from the original. It may not look that different and it may not seem like much, but it took me weeks to do. (Click image to view larger, click again to view larger yet.)Posted by Picasa

There is an incredible difference between this and the original. This one is so much more vibrant. Richer, with more depth.

I might not have good words here, but I really like it!

Oh yes there is a big difference with the original. It's very beautiful. What patience that must require!

Thanks so much jo(e), Sara, Marie, Bearuh for your super kind comments. It does take a lot of time and patience. And each time I do one, I learn more about it.
