Geraldine, 1967, and blog awards

Geraldine, 1967, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. This is another illustration
of Geraldine for my chapbpook. This is in 1967, when she was 17.

I received a blog award for my photos from Dick at Eye on Texel and I
am passing it on to three people:

Andrea at Big Gay Dragon
Anonymous at Anonymous Photos
JoAnn at JoAnn's Digital Eyes
and Mick Mather.

OK, so four, I can't count. Lots of others of you also deserve an award! If you are here reading
this, you are probably one of the winners in my book!

Face: Geraldine Neely, 1975

Face: Geraldine Neely, 1975, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. This is a rough smudge painting of an imaginary woman about whom I am writing a "novel" in "poetry." Well, I am writing something, anyway. LOL! I may use a version of this as the cover of the book, or inside as an illustration. For Inspire me Thursday Faces theme. OK, I just added a new version (above). I thought I was done when I originally posted it, but kept seeing things I wanted to change. Now I think it is still not done, but I am out of time. You can view a poem about Geraldine when she was younger than this picture (she's 25 here). It is an early draft of the poem, which has since gone through a number of revisions, and it's formatting is a messed up, but it will tell you a little about Geraldine as a girl.

Milkweed Blossoms by Moonlight (Full)

Milkweed Blossoms by Moonlight, by Mary STebbins Taitt. This is the
full picture, much shrunken. It doesn't translate well to teh small
size. (See detail below.)

Milkweed Blossoms by Moonlight

Milkweed Blossoms by Moonlight, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. Clcik image
to view larger. This is a detail from a MUCH larger work that does
not convert well to the small format of the blog.
