Forget-me Not

Forget-Me-Not
, Smudge painting by Mary Stebbins Taitt. For my Mom, who I will not forget. These forget-me-nots were growing in my mother's yard just as I was preparing to leave her house for the last time ever after her death. I photographed them in her vase and then painted them.

Signs of Spring, signs of grief. For Illustrations Friday's "signs."

I really like the softness of the background and the vase with the clarity of the flowers. Lovely painting!
