The Dunes by Moonlight

The Dunes by Moonlight, by Mary Stebbins Taitt.

This is a sandwich of multiple time exposures of the dunes at the Pinery from our picnic table done using the collage option in Picasa. No other adjustments were made to any stage of this image (other than cropping.)

I have back-dated this post to the night I took the actual images. I was not on-line that night, since I was camping.

It almost looks misty above the dunes, but it is actually quite clear, is it not? I can see the stars.

Yes, it is clear, and those are the real and not enhanced stars. The reason it looks misty is from the overlapping double exposures intentionally done in Picasa, but I like that effect AND it was also realistic because there really was mist in the dunes due to the warm damp sand (it HAD been raining) and the cool night.

You are so imaginative! I'll have to try this sometime. Thankyou, also, for the advice you left me on one of my posts. I used your advice and updated the post with the new illustration. Any more tips you have for me would be greatly appreciated. I love your work!
