The Fate of Dreams

The Fate of Dreams, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. A variant of a piece I created for The Unbearable Darkness of Being to go with last night's dream. Click image to view larger.

I really like this effect. How did you do that? What type of bird was it. Occasionally I come across a dead bird in my yard.

Thanks, Opal. The bird was a wood thrush but I painted it with a little orange to make it go with the dream.

Then I layered it with reflections for water. I used multiple layers, changing the layer blending but still wasn't happy so I copied the colors by selecting with the magic wand and layered them on.

At first glance I was seeing expressionist splatter ... then the bird hit me and I was thinking, "Jeepers!" Good job, Mary!
