Winter Fisher

Winter Fisher, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. All winter, this heron crouches by the shore of Lake St. Clare where the water movement and discharge keeps the water from freezing, though during that extreme cold snap, only a tiny hole was open. Posted by Picasa

Nice that you can count on seeing the heron every time you go to the park.

Poor thing, he seems to be shrugging with cold. I think we are lucky in my area because it's never very cold. On the other hand, it's hard for us to stand the cold when we are "faced" to it as we are like featherless chickens :-))

wow such a cool pic. So pretty! I love the way it stands. There are 2 cranes that live behind our house.. a black one and a white one.. how cool is that? I have not seen them in awhile but probably will in the summer. By the way, wanted to tell you I made my first weird thing about me post.. check it out! See ya!

Thanks Marie! I do find it harder to take the cold when I live in a warm house like I do now!
