Stand and Defend!

Stand and Defend! By Mary Stebbins Taitt.

This is a "painting" made from a photograph. I am trying to learn what can and cannot be done with smudge painting. I started intentionally with a really bad photo that was taken throught THREE fences in very very low light--just to see what I could do with it. It was an experiment and a learning experience. Here is the original so you can see what's been done. The deer, which used to roam freely on the island, are now in a defunct zoo. I made the columns into trees, pretending they were free again.

En effet, the difference is huge. It must have taken much time to remove the fences ! Amitiés, Mary.

THATS REALLLLLY REALLLY REALLY GOOD! This is my favorite painting you have done. That is sad that they are in a zoo now. The trees look great!!
