A new Painting in two steps

I did this painting on my iPad in Artrage at dinner tonight. First I sketched the face gesturally with pastels and then painted over it with oils. I was looking across the table at my husband who was not holding still! (No photo involved. Drawn by hand on iPad screen, a "finger-painting")

You did this while at dinner with your finger? Amazing. It's amazing how you can capture the essence of a person so well!

And thank you for your nice comments on Creative Confections...much appreciated.

Hope you had a wonderful holiday!

Thanks so much Blue ROse and Jacob--I've been so busy haven't been online much.

Yeah, did this with my finger at dinner. Fun! It's my favorite one so far.

Mary thank you for this nice comm, watercolor, I have not yet mastered, I work too dark, I think. Also, I use the ink as reinforcements, it makes for interesting effects.
Gouache, I have not touched it since my childhood, but I paint with acrylic, which is almost similar. Like oil, too, but then outside in summer.
Explain your child's book, my English is limited, but I should come to understand.
Like the face of your grandfather, a man who seems noble and distinguished.
I wish you a great weekend
I looked at your pictures scrolled, the view is magnificent. Tomorrow I will take time to visit your blog more.
