Piran Alley revisited

This is a digital manipulation of a painting I just finished today. The painting is gouache on yellow paper. It's from a photo I took in Piran, Slovenia, on our honeymoon. I manipulated it digitally primarily because I can't help myself. I like to play. You can see the original unmanipulated painting here. Click this image to view it larger.

The first time I visited Slovenia with the Vermont College Writing Program, there were red geraniums everywhere--I don't know if there was some geranium festival going on or what, but I was disappointed when we went back there there were miscellaneous flowers, so when I painted the picture, I put the red geraniums back where they had been, more or less.
