Art, photoart and Photography by me. Imagik = image magic. Magic is the effect that image-play has on me. I hope to share that. Images, eclectic, whatever turns me on at the moment. My creative play. To say it, cross imagination with magic.
wow, doesn't get much better than that, mary. what a treat this book is going to be for your readers! i love her face, her loving smile, and the simple faces of the kids searching that mirror with awe, curiosity, shyness... the wallpaper adds a lot too, seriously! i LOVE it. xoxoxoox
Hello Mary, I saw this on the Moleskine blog and instantly loved it - your expression, the colours and composition, the way you did the hair, the jigsaw heads! ...and I thought that was you with just a few white hairs missing.
Hi John, Yeah, I'm trying to illustrate a kids book for my Grandchildren for Christmas, but it's such hard work--I wrote TWO books and I will NEVER get them done in time.
i imagine that illustrations would be very hard, having to make likenesses AND repeat them (more or less). my friend suggested we build a character around my "oiseau bleu"... ha! nice idea, but i'm lucky i painted him the first time! :>>))
this is such a lovely illustration, mary, the best, but perhaps, just perhaps, you are making too hard if the struggle is with likenesses? have you considered going just a little more caricatural... just an idea, of course.
I have considered it, but am not very good at that, either. And running out of time to practice if I am going to make it for THIS Christmas, as I had hoped to. THANKS> I may try again.
((((mary)))) it will be great, i'm sure of it... you are remarkable. courage, mary! (said in french, bien sûr!) you, you are courageous. LOVE. xoxooxoxoxox

Thanks so much, Laura.
The grandmother is SUPPOSED to be me, but I made her prettier and younger than me--by accident.
