Celebrate!
We gathered to Celebrate my friend Donna's life after she died unexpectedly from a stroke. Such a combination of joy and sadness--to all be together without her.
much empathy. this morning i was watching a program i watch every week, gay usa, when i heard that a very dear friend of mine was killed riding her bike while attending a quaker conference in virginia, hit and run over by a truck. she was 61.
i met bonnie tinker in 1977; she was the founder of the home for bettered women where i stayed. she even "married" my one-time lover and i, melaina. her wife sara and their three children and grandchild must be so devasted. the four of us women were very close for many years. bonnie and sara taught me to be a cultural advocate.
the memorial will be june 25th in portland. i'm still in a bit of shock. (((((mary))))))) xoxoxooxox
