Farm by moonlight
Farm by moonlight, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. This is a digitally altered photograph. That's the real moon, not added.
I like this a lot too, Mary. Personally, when I use the fill tool, those blocky, jaggedly groups of pixels bug me. Here, they seem to work fine - almost as a stylized element - with the gradation in the background. It's almost like something Van Gogh might have done if he were a cubist working digitally! :D
I don't usually like them either, they look very much like really bad early digital art and photos blown up.
But for some reason, I liked them here.
I added a gradient to a BW picture that already had those. It was made from a photo that was almost completely black. For some reason, I've been really enjoying working with "spoiled" pictures and making something new out of them.

I Like this a lot!! I have started doing a little bit of digital altering with some shots that didn't turn out well....and I'm glad I did.
Sometimes, shots that didn't turn out well make better photoart than ones that did. This picture turned out completely black.
