Autumn Wedding in The New Order

Autumn Wedding in The New Order, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. This is a brand new smudge painting I just did for Illustration Friday: "Suit." I did it today and it is probably unfinished. I don't have time right now to spend on it, unfortunately. If I do more on it later, I may repost it.

There are two kinds of "suits" in this picture, a tuxedo style suit and a suit of armor. Click image to view larger.

It is also a "political statement" of sorts, but I will leave it's meaning to your imagination.

Note: for those few of you who visit regularly, I am going to Slovenia June 14-28 and may be blogging rarely or none between now and July 1. S if you're wondering why and where, that's it.

I have always wanted a suit of armor. Cool! :-)

It's a digital technique in Photoshop . First you get the photo collage or drawing or art piece completely the way you want it as far as composition, color, details etc. Then, using the smudge brush option in Photoshop, you paint over the picture. I could elaborate further if you're interested. It is very time consuming to do well. Mary :-D

It's amazing how different it looks when enlarged.

Have a great time in Slovenia. We'll expect to see lots of new photos from the trip!

Thanks so much Rrramone, Nadine and Val-Gail for your kind and generous comments! I had fun doing this and just wish I had more time to do art.

I love the colors and the knights in armor. It has a real romantic Renaissance feel to it. Can't guess at the political statement, though. I'm a little slow, I guess. Looking forward to photos from your trip. Have fun.

Dear Mary, I hope you will explain the political message, which I have not understood..... Bon voyage to you and your husband. I'm leaving for Ardèche which is not as far as Slovenia but which is at least as beautiful....
Amitiés. Marie.

Thanks so much Blue Rose and Marie.

I really appreciate your kind sweet comments.

Unfortunately, I do not have time right now to talk politics!

Let me just say this: the new order that we seem to be creating is NOT all Good in my opinion (that's an understatement) and idyllic scenes like this will only be for the rich and well-protected (symbolized by the knights in shining armor) if we don't turn things around a little.

I believe in peace, diversity and fairness. Not what is happening. I'd like to explain in more detail but I simply do not have time. Not now. Leaving shortly for Slovenia. Marie, have fun!

Ahh yes. I figured the knights had something to do with it, but I was thinking along the lines of how marriages don't seem to last these days. Now I'm thinking about that rich girl in jail, [oh yeah, Paris. you can tell I don't watch much news]. Can't wait to hear more about your political statement.

Ps. thanks for the advice ;]
