"No Whitewashing," by Mary Stebbins Taitt. ATC front and back. Available for trade, will post to
ATC site if I can figure out how. Side 1: collage, gesso, pen and ink, side 2: gesso, pen and ink, water color. This is on a rough-cut piece of Graham cracker box, from the side of the box with a small portion of the fold of the box at the edge.
I like the statement. It looks as though the white won't stick, like it could just be wiped off.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I did wipe some off, over and around the eyes. It's gesso applied with a dry brush, so it is fairly easy to wipe off. And SHOULD BE, right?
ReplyDeletei thought, one more for the road, and i'm glad i did: wow! i love #1 esp. yes, i love your portraits. this woman looks like the orig. spunky girl! love what you've done with everything, background, whitewash (or not), but it's the style of this work, she looks like she's gonna pop out and take you dancing! if i ever get famous, mary, would you consider one of me for a jacket? :>>)) where there is life, there is hope.
ReplyDeleteps. i love these verification words, they almost make sense. this one is "dollo". that's how i'm going to remember this portrait.
Sure, I'd do a jacket one for you.
ReplyDelete:-D
I did the portrait of Linda Pennisi for her first book--you can see it on Amazon.com. But it's just a regular photo.
