Last Crossing; Uncertain Sky

Last Crossing; Uncertain Sky, by Mary Stebbins Taitt, smudge painting,
For Donna Scott.

I apologize for posting the same picture yet again, but every time I
think I'm done, I decide to work on it some more.

  1. No need for apology as it's always educational to see a piece develop. As I mentioned, the previous version is looser, more impressionistic and still my favorite. The cropping is much more dramatic also and, for me, much more interesting.

  4. I always think no painting is ever finished and no writing is ever completed. Although I have a tendency to quit, anyway. :) I love the way you moved through this one, each one portraying a totally different emotion.

  8. I love seeing the progression. The impressionistic look of the third one is great, but this last one really catches my eye. I think it's because of the red in the sky. It has a more ominous look against the deeper blues of the water. The sailboat looks as if it's glowing.
