  1. Those trees have such lovely silouettes, I can see why you were drawn to the variations.

  2. Thanks, Berrybird! :-)

I do like them. I like tree silhouettes in general! I like groups of three, too. And I love the variations.

  4. I liked the original b/w best actually but I liked them all. The last one reminded me of one time when I was visiting W in Calif. in 1994 or so when she lived in a little cabin-like house in a teeny town called Blue Lake. I was walking along a nearby river, and across the river all the trees looked different pastel colors!! I KNOW I didn't imagine it!! Of course I didn't have my camera with me -- went back to get it (about 1/2 mile each way) and of course it had faded by then. I know it COULD happen because of the way the treetops turn red and orange in certain light, even here in town.

One time I saw those lights in the woods like Annie Dillard saw -- that was here in Jackson in an area that's since been developed. Probably not as dramatic as hers, but I did see something like that. I should look in my old diaries and see if I can find what I wrote because I can't remember much about it anymore.

Anyway your pictures reminded me of that stuff!

  6. Thanks, Pam, Gail and Sam! One of the values of variations is that everyone has different tastes, LOL! :-D
