At the Edge of Evening II

At the Edge of Evening II, by Mary Stebbins Taitt.

Digitally altered photos. The thing that interested me about these is
the magnification or amplification of the amazing color differential
at sunset between the reds and oranges of sunset and the deepening
blues of night.

Not a fractal in Blue

Not a fractal in Blue, "Tangled up in Blue," or, "Into the Snake Pit," by Mary Stebbins Taitt. Dedicated to: D1 and Pam for their upcoming birthdays Saturday, Blue Rose for cheering, Mick and Andree for fractals, BB because I love him even when I am annoyed, and to Bob Dylan and Joan D. Vinge for Tangled up in Blue. I made this in Photoshop just now, it's not a fractal but a sort of fractal wannabe. Please click this to view it larger. It needs to be seen bigger.

Deep in the Forest, self portrait with leaves

Deep in the Forest, self portrait with leaves, by Mary Stebbins Taitt.
In Celebration of digital images, I created this by hand with dots of
ink, some from Andrea's pens. It took a long time. Some pens worked
better than others. Some wouldn't make a dot unless I moved them a
little and then they made a dash. :-( Some pens made tiny dots and
some made big dots. But here is is. Including a detail. (It doesn't
really look that much like me, and makes me look younger than I am.
It's more a self-portrait of my inner self, LOL!)

Not a fractal in Green

Not a fractal in Green, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. I have trouble with
the fractal programs still, so I tried to make one myself in
photoshop.

New Mole

I'm in a moleskine exchange group and wanted a mole to practice in and finally got one. The paper is really weird. Both of these are BB, I did the pen one first and then the water color one. It looks more like gouache, but that's because of the weird paper.

Backyard Journal: The Scarlet Pimpernel, LOL

Backyard Journal: The Scarlet Pimpernel, LOL, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. This is the latest completed page in my backyard journal. But the scarlet pimpernels have lavender centers, not yellow, sorry. This one I did in the car while driving back and forth to piano lessons and rehearsals etc. So it is not accurate! The ones I actually do in the yard are more "accurate."

Yellow with Red and Red with Yellow--Tulips!

Yellow with Red and Red with Yellow--Tulips! by Mary Stebbins Taitt.
A small (less than 5 x 7) gouache sketch after Clare Walker Leslie's
Keeping a Nature Journal, page 109. (My variation on her theme.) We
have these in our yard. Unfortunately, the scans never look the same
and I think the real painting looks at least a little better!
