The Crawdad Hunter, October, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. Click image to view larger.
Biker Buddy and I went to Wolcott Mill Metropark Sunday. We were surprised by a Civil War Muster (which we missed), but we did see all the people in period costume. This girl was actually collecting crawdads (crayfish). We saw her get one (I may post that picture later.)
This is such a happy photo with it's fall color, peacefull water, and the girl who looks like she's dancing. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Blue Rose. I love it too! :-)
ReplyDeleteWas she a re-enactor, or simply another person out enjoying the day? Lovely lighting.
ReplyDeleteShe was a re-enactor, but she was done with her re-enacting and just playing. She was still wearing her re-enacting clothes. She was maybe 11 or 12 years old.
ReplyDeleteWhat a dreamy picture. Neat!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Nadine. I was really pleased. :-D
ReplyDeleteYou captured a photo. I love playing in the water, so does my daughter. We have a stream on our property it's not as wide as this one but it's still beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Opal! :-D
ReplyDeleteI love creeks and streams, so pretty!
What a great photo. Given the dress on the girl, at first glance I thought the photo was a painting -- then I looked again, and read your explanation. Very well done.
ReplyDeletePretty much looks like you stepped back in time! The colors near you look great.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Bobbie and Neva! I love those re-enactment events, but getting this shot was a stroke of luck (and persistence)! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLike travelling with a time machine way back -and you'll step into this picture, days gone by, yesterday's dreams.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful moment, a beautiful picture.
