The 80s: Erin with Robin's Egg

Erin with Robin's Egg, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. In the 80s, especially the early 80s, I was busy raising children. That's what the 80s meant to me. It was an important job and I loved it.

This is a smudge painting I did of my daughter Erin with a Robin's egg. It's from a photo taken in 1981. And a detail from the smudge-painting.

I just "finished" this today. I did it for this theme. Not sure I am really "done."

For Illustration Friday's 80s theme.

I did it in photoshop using the smudge brush--I painted over the entire photo as if I were making the painting from scratch using a smudgebrush set at 40 strength.
