Snail at Silk Creek
f/2.8, 1/30s, 8 mm, ISO 95, early evening after thunderstorm, fairly dark sky. I think this may be a "bad" (alien invasive) snail, but I thought it was pretty. I was fascinated that I could see through the shell. I took the picture with my point and shoot pocket camera and played with it [almost] exclusively on Picasa (to see what Picasa is up to). I used practically every effect and tuning available for color. On Photoshop, I resized it to 500 pixels and removed one small blob of crud. To see the same image somewhat larger, click here.

My mother, Margaret, is in a nursing home after a brain tumor and other problems have disturbed her memory and perception and made it impossible for her to care for herself. She loves flowers, but is unable to go outside on her own.
